This Sunday marks 31 years since the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
Yes; his physical body left the world on the 3rd of Tammuz, 1994.
But his soul, his impact, and his deep connection to every Jew; never did.
The Rebbe was one of the greatest Torah scholars in modern history.
He mastered Jewish law, Kabbalah, philosophy, and science.
He advised world leaders, inspired millions, and uplifted every soul he encountered.
Miracles? There were plenty. Wisdom? Endless. But that’s not what made him truly unique.
What set the Rebbe apart; perhaps in all of Jewish history; was his belief in you.
He didn’t lead only those who followed him.
He believed in every Jew; regardless of background, observance, or beliefs.
To him, every person had a unique purpose. A soul worth fighting for.
That belief changed the world.
He sent Chabad emissaries to places where Jewish life seemed to be fading; even where communities had already given up.
But he didn’t. And because of that, countless lives were revived.
One woman once asked the Rebbe; already in his late 80s; how he stood for hours handing out blessings without getting tired.
He smiled and answered:
“When you’re counting diamonds, you don’t get tired.”
That’s how he saw us. Every Jew; a diamond. Every soul; precious and powerful.
And 31 years later, his light hasn’t faded.
It shines brighter; through the work of his emissaries, and through each of us who dares to believe in our own spark.
This 3rd of Tammuz, let’s reconnect.
Let’s honor the Rebbe; by living the faith he had in us.
