Our Vision & Mission

Chabad Virginia Beach - A Local Home For Every Jew.

Our mission is to build a warm, open Jewish home in our city - welcoming every Jew, at any level, with no judgment and no membership requirements.
A place to connect, learn, celebrate, and feel at home as a Jew.

Inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, our work focuses on two pillars:

  • Creating a Jewish foundation that is accessible, welcoming, and supportive for every Jew - from any background, and at any level of knowledge or connection.

  • Reaching out to those not yet connected, so no one is left behind.

If you’re new here, reach out. We’d love to meet you for a coffee.

Rabbi Meir Lessoff, born and raised in Kfar Chabad, Israel, moved to Virginia Beach in March 2021 with his wife Adina and their two children (now four). With encouragement and guidance from Chabad of Virginia, they came to establish a center that would serve as a spiritual home for the area’s 6,000+ Jewish residents and the many Jewish tourists who visit each year.

From the very beginning, the mission of Rabbi Meir has been to provide a welcoming space where every Jew feels at home, regardless of background or level of observance. The center operates and thrives thanks to the partnership and generosity of those who believe in its vision and support its work. Rabbi Meir’s classes, community events, and the inclusive atmosphere have made Chabad a beacon for Jewish life and connection in Virginia Beach.

Whether you’re seeking Jewish learning, a mitzvah opportunity, or simply a warm community to call home, reach out to Rabbi Meir, he would be excited to take your call.

Mrs. Adina Lessoff (Sobko) was born in Israel and grew up in Ottawa, Canada, where her mother served as a spiritual leader for the Jewish-Russian community while also working as a doctor and psychologist. In 2018, Adina moved to Orlando, Florida, with her husband, Rabbi Meir, where they helped develop the local Jewish community before founding the Chabad in Virginia Beach.

In addition to her experience teaching adults and children, Adina is a talented chef and baker who uses her skills to support and care for those in need in the Virginia Beach community.

As the co-director of Chabad Virginia Beach, Adina leads the women’s circle and Jewish Kids Club with dedication and warmth, creating a welcoming and family-like atmosphere at Chabad.

For any woman seeking a deeper connection to Judaism or a meaningful friendship, Adina is the person to call. Her kindness and sincerity make her the friend and guide you’ll treasure.
