Eikev – The Power of Small Things

Parshat Eikev teaches that our connection to G-d isn’t measured only by the “big” and inspiring mitzvot, but also and perhaps especially by the small ones we might be tempted to overlook.
Life is built from countless small moments. Just as a massive building stands firm because of tiny, hidden screws, our spiritual life stands strong through consistent, simple acts a short blessing, lighting Shabbat candles, giving a coin to charity, speaking kindly.
In Jewish life, it’s the steady, everyday mitzvot – the ones that fit naturally into our routine that keep our faith, our homes, and our communities strong. And sometimes, it’s precisely those we tend to undervalue or “step over” that hold the deepest foundations of everything.
