Shalom’s 3rd birthday- upshernish 💇🏻💙

My name is Shalom

and soon I'll be three,

My parents are making a

party especially for me.

It's more than a birthday,

as you'll hear in this rhyme,

We're going to cut my hair

for the very first time.

An 'Upshernish' is Yiddish,

it means cutting hair.

A Kippah and Tzitzit

I'll now get to wear.

My new Kippah and Payot

will announce clear and loud,

that I'm a Jewish little boy,

and I'm so very proud.

Adults & kids can take a snip

and be part of my transition,

So please come and join

in this beautiful tradition.
